Beigua Natural Park
Beigua Natural Park
Woe to call it Appennino in the presence of a geologist, because this mountain area that unites the municipalities of Arenzano, Campo Ligure, Cogoleto, Genoa, Masone, Rossiglione, Sassello, Stella, Tiglieto, Urbe and Varazze geologically belongs to the Alps.
These lands rich in reliefs that reach 1300 meters in height offer a very varied landscape, ranging from grasslands used for grazing, areas that were deforested by the republic of Genoa to build ships.
The park encloses the almost remote forests of the Stura and Orba valleys, and further back from the sea the tree vegetation covering steep, rocky slopes.
In these environments where the crystalline water flows between wild canyons in the shade of the Mediterranean bush, where it is still possible to see the stars while hearing the croaking of frogs, the people of southern Piedmont have united with those of the Ligurian coast, returning us since prehistory unique testimonies.
In this section we will tell you about the Beigua Natural Park, the Alps with a sea view.
