We visited Borneo and Kuala Lumpur during the summer holidays, choosing to visit the Malaysian capital lastly.

We visited the area around Sandakan almost exclusively with local guides, who were very useful for getting around and understanding the biodiversity of Borneo.

In the Sipadan marine area we stayed at the Mataking Resort for 5 days, so we could do as much diving as possible. The 5-star resort, with internal diving, is equipped with everything you need to spend a super holiday, and is also one of the islands with the most diving spots.

Before returning to Italy, we visited Kuala Lumpur for a final 4-day urban stop, each day full of activities to do and places to see.

For a trip like this, which involves trekking, diving and urban walks, it is essential to be well prepared. Versatile clothing suitable for different weather conditions is essential, because the climate here is very unpredictable.
